March 2022 we joined the illustrious Économusée network.The definition of Économusée is ‘working museum’- more recognisable as Artisans at work. The Économusée concept was developed in Québec and involves partners from Canada, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Haiti, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Chestnut Farm

We are a family dairy farm based just outside Portrush. We have been farming here since 1913 and we are currently fourth generation farmers. In July 2020, we diversified the farm by opening the first Milk Vending Machine on the Island of Ireland. Since then we have progressed into making our own Greek Style Yoghurt and opening our Honesty Farm Shop situated on the farm.

We are the first Fully FREE FROM - Made To Order bakery located here in Garvagh, Coleraine, Northern Ireland! We are small, honest sellers, tiny wee bakehouse here in Northern Ireland with passion for healthy foods for everyone; therefore, our products are #cultured (#fermented, #sourdough, #naturallyleavened), fully or mostly #organic, and sourced locally when possible. When it’s not possible, we still use #fairtrade, organic and/or #minimallyprocessedingredients (like our Brown Rice flour for instance). #Nonastychemicals or human made antibiotics, so as #closetonature as possible ALWAYS. #Kosher and #Halal approved if needed to be.

Probably their most celebrated product is Ewing’s Organic Smoked Irish Salmon. A particular favourite among the Michelin star chefs, it’s also widely regarded as the best in the world. Belfast–based fishmongers, Ewing’s Seafoods supply fresh local fish and seafood to Northern Ireland’s top restaurants and hotels.

Irwin’s Bakery – Portadown Co Armagh

W.D. Irwin and his wife Ruth opened for business in a small bakery in Portadown, Co Armagh. The exact date of opening of Irwin’s Bakery is unknown. However, the year 1912 was chosen due to the discovery of a paper trail in the oldest original building before the bakery moved site.
